BRA DEA DONATES TO MUSLIMS IN SUNYANI.

Executive director of NGO(Bra Dea Foundation) Michael Marcus Paaa Edwards has donated 30 packs bottled water to the Brong Ahafo regional chief Imam and Muslim community in the region.

The donation was made to the Imam Alhaji Moro Abdulkadir  to support them in the ongoing Ramadan festival.

Michael Marcus Paapa Edwards executive director of the NGO revealed his outfit with support from Verna Mineral water donated the 30 packs of bottled water to show their support for this year's Ramadan fasting season.

As part of our core objective to support and touch lives, we felt it very important to show concern on this holy journey and strengthen them to pray for mother Ghana.We believe this year's Ramadan will bring  forth more blessing to equip change in attitude among the youth.

The regional chief Imam Alhaji Moro Abdulkadir, showed gratitude for the kind gestures been showed to the Muslim community.

On behalf of the Muslim community in the region, we thank you for the support we appreciate you, it's our prayer Allah will provide in abundance wherever the funds came from.

The Chief lmam Alhaji Abdulkadir caution all Muslims to desist from any deed which depicts the purpose of the sacred journey where he advised every Muslim mainly the youth to take part.

The Secretary for the regional peace council Alhaji Sualla Abdalla Quanda, was part of the delegation who visited the regional chief Imam to grace the occasion.

We has sighted a video of Bullet and some members of his management team including the lady said to be the replacement of Ebony, Wen Shayy.

The video was reportedly taken at the Ghana DJ Awards which came off at the Accra International Conference Center last Saturday.

The Ebony replacement, who was in the company of O-Gee, a member of Bullet’s management team, and Bullet himself, was captured shaking her body.

She was speaking, and asking Ghanaians to watch out for her because she is coming to take the over music industry by storm. But her action seems to have angered Ghanaians, and some social media users have lambasted her for trying to copy the late Ebony.

Prince Akyereko Wins NPP Canada Youth Organizer Position

Mr. Prince Akyereko, last Saturday defeated his main challenger Kwaku Quaye by landslide in the NPP Canada elections to become the new Youth Organizer. Out of total valid votes cast, Prince Akyereko polled 79 while his challenger Kwaku Quaye polled 21 representing 77% of eligible voters.

In a post election interview with the press, Mr. Akyereko commended the executives of the party for the free,fair and transparent elections.

Mr. Akyereko promised to honor all his electoral promises of increasing the party's electoral fortunes, creating an open door policy and work hard to support President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration to create wealth and jobs for all Ghanaians irrespective of one's political,religious and tribal leanings.

The former SRC Secretary of Sunyani Technical University promised to increase the party's membership drive and make the Canada branch of the party more attractive to the youth.

He also assured delegates to put in place a plan that recognizes individual talents and work with all youth to make sure NPP retains power and succeed.

Mr. Akyereko, a Senior Business Analyst with TD Bank Group is a native of Nsoatre in the Brong Ahafo Region.

He holds degree in Business Information Technology, MBA with specialization in Business Analytics, HND Marketing, Postgraduate Certificate in Information Systems Analysis.

Mr. Akyereko aside of politics is an accomplished writer with four books published to his credit namely

Oh! My Dear Lover, Dapaa, The Indisciplined Son & The Untimely Death and Ananse and the Golden Tree.

UEW STUDENTS AT RISK

 I have been in this university for some years now, I have witnessed strange instances where students are being attacked by armed robbers. I was a victim of such incidents in October 2016, helpless I watched, they took away all my belongings. My former English tutor in JHS Popularly called Martin Luther who’s one of the alumni in this noble university experienced a gun point attack at Simpa Block D on the eve of his departure from the university among Several other instances. “There will be no hiding place for criminals” (Pres. Akuffo Addo : 2018). Yet, nothing has been done. “Government to deploy 4500 CCTV cameras for Ghana Police Service” (Daily Guide, pg 4: 2018/03/20). Yet, no shaking for the members in these Criminal act.
Banners which reads “Beware, Snatchers around, do not walk alone in dark places, do not walk alone at night” has been hanged in various places in the University to create awareness about this immoral act. (University practice school, closer to the stream, North campus).

The reason being that, most of the hostels is located in distant areas away from major university facilities such as lecture halls and libraries and, as a result, students are bound to leave and return to their hostels very late in the night.

This situation had given rise to widespread theft, assault, rape and armed robberies at various private hostels on the campuses.
Universities needed to craft policies on safety and security for private hostels which housed some of their students. There has been a multiple suggestions by some concern students to put a break to this unfortunate situations. Star Boy and Sisqo are of the view that, all private hostels should be made to establish porters’ lodges as was done in traditional halls of residence.
 Porters should be made to keep a register containing comprehensive records of students who reside in these hostels,” adding that police and military patrols should be provided.

The university security personnel, , should be posted to some of the hostels and equipped with the necessary tools to help them go about their duties smoothly.
Mr. Asante Williams Political Science Level 400 student said “Close Circuit Television (CCT) cameras could be installed on major corridors and compounds of the private hostels and monitored from the porters lodges”.

Students, on their part, he said, must be encouraged to report criminal activities or emergencies occurring at the hostels immediately  to any university security officer on patrol in person or in writing.
Where necessary, the local police must be involved.

Meanwhile, I also suggested that owners of private hostels on university campuses to provide adequate security to protect students who reside in such shelters.

WHO SHOULD BE BLAMED??

Students who do not get access to their affiliated halls have no option than to go out and rent hostels so that they can find shelter. Upon securing these hostels, the fee that the landlords demand seems to be "growing" in every academic year.

 The most disturbing and heartbreaking thing is that some hostels are not fully equipped in terms of security and other basic provisions such as water, lighting, and other facilities needed to keep occupants (students) in their respective places of abode. Why is this fee increasing in every academic year? WHO SHOULD BE BLAMED? The students or the landlords? In an exclusive interview with Mad. Margaret (the caretaker of Living Justice hostel) and Mad.
Obondzie of Obondzie hostel and some landlords, they said "most of the students misuse their facilities and materials provided by the hostel managements".
These include, water, mattress, table and chairs, toilets (WC), fan, carpets, lockers, lights and so on.
They further explained that, water for instance is being misused by the students to the extent that some students can bath more than five times a day with the aim that they have paid for it.
Thereby, increasing the tariffs and bills of water day- in- day out. The other facilities mentioned earlier must be replaced when they are destroyed. Prices of such facilities keep rising as time goes on.

Hence, the need to increase the fee which will enable them to provides the facilities yearly. "No wahala oo trouble don’t come haha". In a one and one interview with some students, Ameyaw K.
Evans, Stephen Baffour Awuah (otherwise called Sisqo and Star Boy respectively) "Most landlords and the natives of Winneba have taken the entire university community as their cocoa trees".

 They make money through the students. In short, it as a result of greediness and the lust for money that made the owners of these hostels increase the fees in every academic year.

To curb these controversies, proper legislations are to be made to ensure smooth operations and easily accessible for all.

All hostels must be registered and categorized base on their facilities and how they operate clearly spelt out. In our quest to make university education stimulating and accessible to all who wish to pursue one, it is important to ensure the affordability, safety and security of students, especially those living in private hostels of various campuses.

The national commission on culture in partnership with street fashion train March present WEAR GHANA MONTH FASHION SHOW 2018 which is set for 23rd-24th March 2018 with representative(fashion designers) from all the ten(10) Regions of Ghana. 

Brong Ahafo recognized Kenzy Design is set to represent the region at this year's maiden edition(event)which takes place at National theatre,Accra Ghana.

Is a fashion show organized by the government of Ghana to project African wear ,were all recognized designers in Ghana are meeting in Accra for this event and am representing Brong Ahafo. 

This is a month of observing by every Ghanaian by wearing anything made in Ghana and award the industry players.
